Marine Conservation: Leaving a Positive Legacy in Vietnam

When Rainbow Divers opened the country’s first PADI center in 1996, we recognized that our business was entirely dependent on the health of the ocean. Nearly three decades later, our mission remains unchanged: to ensure that the reefs of Nha Trang, Whale Island, and Con Dao remain vibrant for generations to come. We don’t just talk about conservation; we live it. As a vocation, not just a business, we are active participants in marine protection, rescue support, and community education. When you dive with us, you are joining a tradition of stewardship that prioritizes the environment over "conveyor-belt" tourism.

Active Protection: Ghost Net Removal & Reef Cleans

One of the greatest threats to the coral reefs in Nha Trang Bay is "Ghost Nets"—discarded fishing gear that smothers coral and entangles marine life. Our pro-team and Rainbow Academy interns regularly conduct volunteer sweeps to remove hundreds of kilograms of these nets from the Hon Mun Marine Park. By untangling the reef and bringing this trash ashore, we provide the coral with the "room to breathe" it needs to thrive.

As the 1st PADI Dive Centre in Vietnam, we focus our efforts on sustainable Diving,

symbiotically with protecting + enhancing the fragile underwater environment.

We have been doing this for 25+ years and will continue to do so.

If you want 'carefree', 'cheap-cheap' or 'don't care' diving,

sadly, there are plenty of shops in Nha Trang who will oblige.

SUPPORT THE SUPPORTERS ON THE ENVIRONMENT

The Green Fins Initiative: Sustainable Diving Standards

Rainbow Divers is a proud member of Green Fins, an international organization that promotes sustainable diving and snorkeling practices. We follow a strict code of conduct that includes:

  • Zero-Contact Policy: Ensuring no diver or snorkeler touches or steps on the coral.
  • Responsible Boat Operations: Using mooring buoys to prevent anchor damage and managing waste strictly on board.
  • Eco-Briefings: Every Rainbow Divers trip includes an environmental briefing to help our guests minimize their footprint.

Our PADI IDC Staff Instructor Joe, has always been the leader in all our environmental activities for Rainbow Divers in Nha Trang, Whale Island and on Phu Quoc. We're delighted that he accepted a unique Conservation Award from PADI Regional Manager, Brendon Sing, on behalf of the entire Pro-Team at Rainbow Divers .
