PADI Advanced Open Water Diver: Your License to Explore Deeper
The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course is all about one thing: Adventure. You don't need to be "advanced" to take it—it’s designed to make you an advanced diver. At Rainbow Divers, we focus on transitioning you from a student who follows a guide to a diver who leads with confidence. By the end of this two-day program, you will be certified to dive to a maximum depth of 30 meters (100 feet), opening up a whole new world of shipwrecks, deep pinnacles, and unique marine life that resides just beyond the reach of a beginner.
No Exams, Just Adventure: How the Course Works
Forget the classroom and the long quizzes. The Advanced course is 100% practical. You will complete five specialized "Adventure Dives," each focusing on a specific skill set.
Core Dive: Deep Diving (Down to 30 Meters)
This is the most popular part of the course. Under the guidance of our veteran instructors, you will learn how to manage the effects of pressure and nitrogen at depth. In Nha Trang, this allows us to take you to deeper sites like Electric Nose, where the larger schools of fish and more dramatic rock formations are found.
Core Dive: Underwater Navigation
Ever wonder how your guide always finds the boat? We’ll teach you the "black magic" of the compass and how to use natural landmarks like current direction, light, and rock formations to navigate the reef like a pro.
Choose Your Electives: Buoyancy, Photography, or Fish ID
You get to pick three additional dives based on your interests. We highly recommend Peak Performance Buoyancy, which is the single best way to improve your air consumption and protect the reef. If you’re diving at Whale Island, the Digital Underwater Imaging or Underwater Naturalist dives are perfect for capturing the incredible macro life found in the bay.

Many of Vietnam’s most iconic dive spots require a PADI Advanced Open Water certification. By completing this course with Rainbow Divers, you gain the skills necessary to explore the swim-throughs of Madonna Rock or the deep soft coral gardens of Con Dao.

The PADI Advanced Open Water Course has 5 dives including Deep, Buoyancy, and Navigation, the other two we recommend are Nitrox and Rescue or Wreck.
