Each of our diveboats at each of our dive destinations offer daily diving for certified divers, training courses for students and Discover Scuba Diving (Try-dives) for non divers. Snorkeling and skin diving is also offered for those who prefer to stay above the water!
We depart early in the morning, around 7am, to catch the good weather and water conditions. Return time depends on which dive destination you have chosen, but is normally around 12.30pm in Nha Trang, Hoi An & Whale Island and early afternoon in Phu Quoc and Can Dao.
Each diveboat carries emergency oxygen and the crew are all oxygen first aid trained. In Nha Trang, one of our divemasters is a medical doctor and has her own practice there. The nearest decompression chamber for Nha Trang & Whale Island is actually in Nha Trang: For Hoi An, the closest is Da Nang: for Phu Quoc a trip to Saigon is necessary and from Con Dao a flight to Vung Tao. For this reason we recommend that all divers carry DAN or PADI personal accident & evacuation insurance. This is recommended not just for Vietnam, but all diving worldwide! Click on the DAN icon on the left of this page for immediate 30 day cover.
Speedboat dive-trips are available in Nha Trang & Hoi An should you want a more flexible schedule or more exclusive diving.
All divers have access to the full range of diving equipment including 3 or 5mm wetsuits (or shorties), fins, snorkels, masks (including some with prescription lenses), regulators and of course air tanks. Most of our tanks are 12 litre aluminium with yoke fittings, but we can offer some steel tanks with DIN fittings if needed. For ‘Air-Hogs’ we can also offer 15 litre tanks! The tanks are filled by one of our own Bauer or Coltri compressors to a pressure of 200bar (3,000psi). This is normally adequate for dives of between 50 75 minutes, depending on depth and no-decompression limits.
NITROX is available in Nha Trang & Whale Island for certified NITROX divers and for students wishing to take this course.

Transport to and from the diveboat is naturally included as is mineral water, fresh fruits and light ‘healthy’ snacks. A full lunch is available on the diveboat in Phu Quoc or in the restaurant on Whale Island & Con Dao. In Nha Trang a 10% discount is offered on food & drinks for divers at The Rainbow Bar.
Diving & Training with Rainbow Divers is relatively more expensive than elsewhere in Vietnam and SE Asia. We make no apologies for this as we know it is reflected in our levels of service and safety (and of course fun!). Each boat will always have at least 1 Instructor on board especially when all divers are in the water! Dive groups are kept small with a maximum of 4 divers (of the same level) with a certified PADI dive-guide.
Training courses are also kept to a maximum of 4 students with 1 Instructor. This ensures personalised and more thorough tuition which in turn produces more confident & competent divers!
When diving anywhere in the world, especially SE Asia, it is imperative that you dive with established and experienced PADI professionals. Safety & fun must be more important than price! Those who dive or learn with price as their guide are often left hugely disappointed! Check out other dive operators but for a few dollars more you won’t leave your diving experience to chance! Rainbow Divers owned & run by divers for divers!
