The 7km long, palm-lined sandy beach makes Nha Trang one of Vietnam's most popular destinations for Vietnamese and foreigners alike. A backdrop of mountains to the West & North not only provide picturesque scenery, but serve to isolate Nha Trang from the rest of the country's weather patterns.
Nha Trang enjoys the well deserved reputation of having the best climate in Vietnam, with an estimated 250 days of sunshine a year and temperatures between 26-38c. The rainy season can sometimes start mid November and last until early January. However, for the last 5 years we have been able to offer reasonable diving at this time, albeit with restricted viz. As for the rest of the year clear blue skies and a mirror like sea are almost guaranteed.
The many off-shore islands enhance the serenity of the coastal waters and make for a great day out. Some of the islands are uninhabited, whilst others are home to several small fishing villages. Due to the clarity of the water and the rich tropical sea life, the area is ideal for diving, swimming & snorkelling.
Fishing is one of the region's prime industries and most visitors take advantage of the town's many excellent seafood restaurants offering abalone, oysters, squid, prawns, lobster, scallops etc at very reasonable prices. For variety, Nha Trang also boasts Italian, German, French, Indian, Japanese & Korean cuisine in the numerous restaurants along the front.
Step back into the main part of the town, away from the tourist havens, and the pavements are bursting with local colour, street food, markets, 'che' stands and the general bustle of daily life.
Accommodation ranges from the basic US$6 room with shower to the luxury US$120-a-night plus (plus, plus). For more detailed information, please check out one of the guide books. We will be happy to organise and book your hotel if you wish.
Getting to Nha Trang couldn't be easier. There are regular flights from Saigon, Hanoi & Da Nang as well as daily rail, bus and minibus services.
