Sangalaki offers truly world-class diving from a tiny TropicalRainforestIsland surrounded by beautiful sandy beaches. The cost of this unique experience is US$10,000. This includes transfers from Berau to the Island, 15 nights full board, all PADI & EFR fees, souvenir clothing, a day trip diving at Kakaban and it s world famous JellyfishLake and a 2nd IDC & IE free, in Vietnam, in the unlikely event you fail part of the IE.
It is recommended that you obtain all the required Manuals & Materials before arriving, as independent study & knowledge reviews are essential before the IDC starts.
IDCStaffCandidates are also welcome at the same price. Existing IDCS & MIs canjoin this learning extravaganza for $7,500.
Should you wish to arrive on the Island before, or stay after, a discounted rate of $200 per person per night, including meals & 3 dives, will be applied!

2008 APPLICATIONS FOR DMs & INSTRUCTOR CANDIDATES
Whatever you are currently doing, why not consider a 6 - 12 month life-break and become a PADI Divemaster or Instructor?
The Rainbow Academy, based in Nha Trang, is the only PADI Career Development Centre (CDC) & IDC in Vietnam. They specialise in taking you from a new diver, or even a non-diver, upto a professional dive educator as a Divemaster or Instructor.
Six month packages including all courses, unlimited diving, accommodation, your own equipment and the best dive training start from only US$9,500!
So whether you are looking for a life-break, a career change or a professional qualification to allow you to travel & work around the
There will always be "Cowboys" in every profession in the world: FACT!
Diving, unfortunately is no exception. PADI however do moniter all their appointed centres quite thoroughly; 2 years ago we saw them refuse to allow Coco Divers in Nha Trang to continue representing PADI. Last week, PADI expelled Blue Diving Club in Nha Trang AND their owners!
The best advice now? Choose the highest qualified, with International & independant accolades.
Rainbow Divers continue to set the standards for diving & diver training in Vietnam and ONLY teach PADI courses:
They are the only PADI CDC
They are the only 5 Star IDC's
They are the only National Geographic Divecentres
Of course you can still dive and learn cheaply in Vietnam, but do you really want to cut corners & safety?

PATTAYA, Thailand (12 Mar 2007) -- The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) forecasts that the total revenue of the tourism industry may reach VND56 trillion (US$3.5 billion) this year, 10% more than 2006.
This year the tourism sector targets to serve around 23-24.4 million visitors, including 4-4.4 million international travelers, up by 11-22% compared to 2006, and 19-20 million local tourists, up by 5.5-11%.
According to the world leading consulting organization Globalysis Ltd, Vietnam is one of the destinations with the highest growth rates in Asia.
Based on its current position and policy, the Vietnamese tourism sector will gain the highest growth rate in 2007.
Globalysis said that the number of foreign visitors to Vietnam grows 10% annually and will reach around 3.94 million in 2007.
"In its five-year plan, the VNAT targets to draw 6 million foreign visitors and double its income to reach $5 billion by 2010. The government also announced to spend $7.6 million for this five-year plan.
This amount of money is equivalent to the spending of Thailand, Malaysia and Indonesia within only one year.
To turn tourism into a key industry, the Vietnamese government needs to pour more money into the tourism industry from now on, not till it becomes lucrative," said Karl D John, Director of the TCK investment consulting company in Vietnam.
Vietnam welcomed 3.585 million international visitors and served 17.5 million local tourists in 2006, earning VND51,000 billion ($3.187 billion).

PHU QUOC CORAL DESTRUCTION.......
Rainbow Divers are the ONLY PADI Divecentre on Phu Quoc, despite other false advertising!!!
The General Manager there, Georges Erhard and his senior Instructor Todd Hansen, set the standards for diving & training in Phu Quoc.
Despite warnings & threats, the other 2 'cowboy' divecentres there still drop their anchor daily onto corals! This is an Internationally recognised breach of basic diving protocol.
Please DO NOT SUPPORT these cowboys. The corals around Phu Quoc are already struggling to survive the sediment that is being washed over them. Physically destroying them is totally unacceptable!
Rainbow Divers are Go-ECO centres and avidly support Project AWARE from their 5 centres throughout Vietnam.
Sport equipment to be transported as checked baggage
• Scuba diving equipment: a scuba diving set includes a scuba cloth, a breathing tube, a pair of screws, a diving mask. The equipment that belongs to the dangerous goods group (for example: pressure-gauge) shall not be accepted. The request for transport of SPEQ must be booked in advance, at least 24 hours prior to the flight’s estimated time of departure (ETD).
SPEQ must be packed in a neat manner without sharp angles to ensure safe transport.
Not sure about some of their terminology, but it now appears that you should get excess baggage allowance..............

Vietnam was recently recognised both as a gourmet paradise and as one of the safest destinations in the world for travelers.
An International Travel author has written that the country's "environment is captivating and food devine".
Aon Insurance Company has ranked Vietnam as one of the safest countries in The World.
Vietnam's tourism is booming, with 1.7 million tourists arriving in the first half of 2005, an increase of 24% compared with 2004. The target is 3.5 million tourists this year.

Nha Trang Diving?
The 2005 version of The Lonely Planet recommends that you should only dive with one of the reputable divecentres in Nha Trang with environmentally responsible diving practices.
Their names are Rainbow Divers, Octopus & BDC. Incidentally, these are the 3 divecentres working together to raise standards & safety in Vietnam through the Nha Trang Safe Diving Alliance (NTSDA).
Other centres in Nha Trang are either non PADI centres or ones offering cheap diving & courses.
Low prices = Low Quality!!
Always aim for the best!

Cheap Diving & Courses?
Rainbow Divers offer a consistantly professional & high quality service. They are rated in the top 3% of all Dive centres in Asia!
Jeremy Stein, Vietnam's only PADI Course Director is in day-to-day control of all diving activities and the Instructor team is lead by PADI Master Instructor Grant Martin & IDC Staff Instructor Graham Lee. There are currently 20 Instructors in the team from all corners of the world teaching in English, French, Japanese, Russian, Vietnamese, Danish, Irish, German & Spanish to mention just a few!
So if you are looking for a cheap way to dive or train, then check out one of the small divecentres in Nha Trang. Whilst they cannot compete with professionalism, they will gladly cut prices to get some business.
BUT BEWARE: cutting prices in Vietnam always means cutting corners in safety or standards.
If you were booking to go parachuting would you really choose the cheapest option?

Rainbow Dive Gear
Rainbow Divers have introduced a new range of T-shirts & Trousers.
The Ts are high quality imported cotton and available in Red, Blue & Black. Surprisingly they are not as 'loud' as the flambouyant owner of Rainbow normally designs! These are quite plain with some subtle & discreet Rainbow logos.
The trousers are available in Black, Blue or Cream and are made from European 'Parachute' silk which means they are ideal for watersports or travelling as they dry almost immediately. They also have zip-off legs which turns them into pretty cool shorts!
Full range available at The Rainbow in Nha Trang.
