Resettlement / ELC / Expeds |
Through Rainbow Divers-Vietnam we offer PADI courses which are paid for by Resettlement Grants & ELC's. We also organise and host diving expeditions for all personnel eligible for military funding.
If you are holidaying in Vietnam, pop into any Rainbow Dive Centre (5 Centres located throughout Vietnam – Nha Trang, Whale Island, Hoi An, Phu Quoc & Saigon) & on production of a valid HM Forces ID you will be entitled to a 10% discount off all Rainbow courses, food & drink (Soon to be published in the HM Forces Discount Brochure).
Additionally, 25% of profits from the HM Forces scheme with Rainbow Divers are donated to Help for Heroes and local charities.
Rainbow Divers offer resettlement courses for retired military personnel and are currently waiting for Enhanced Learning Credit (ELC) accreditation, making it possible for you to attend any level 3 courses during your military career or up to 10 years after leaving the forces.
Please feel free to email me for a list of NVQ Level 3 courses which qualify for ELC.
Whether you're Army, Navy, or Air Force and eligible for a Resettlement Grant, Rainbow Divers are available to host Resettlement Courses for you.
We offer tailor made training packages that are covered by Resettlement grants and soon to be, Enhanced Learning Credits. Your Resettlement package covers;
• Course and examination fees.
• Accommodation.
• 3 meals a day.
• Equipment hire.
• Study material.
• Full instruction.
Apart from flights and visas, there are no other costs whatsoever. Course fees differ depending on the individual's qualification/experience and to what specific level of PADI qualification you would like to attain, therefore every quote is specific to each applicant.

THE RAINBOW DIVERS PROMISE
After having researched the market and checking what other companies have to offer, we guarantee to beat them all. Some companies demand large deposits, whereas we demand nothing except honesty and integrity.
Unlike other centres we won’t promise to deliver qualifications in record time. We believe training should be delivered at a realistic pace, which is both achievable and enjoyable. You will be given the opportunity to dive twice a day (plus night dives), 7 days a week, for the duration of your course.
If you are attending a 7 week resettlement course and you require further training beyond this timeframe to reach the agreed standard, Rainbow Divers will take the hit and offer you up to 2 weeks free contingency training, 3 meals a day and pay for all accommodation. Rainbow Divers never settle for anything less than 100% quality.
If you reach your agreed standard within the agreed time frame, Rainbow Divers will give you £300 of diving gear absolutely free. Being in partnership with the largest supplier of diving equipment in Vietnam, we have an enormous stock of state of the art branded diving equipment at unbelievably low prices, so you get more. You choose the gear, not us, so you get the kit you want and not what we want to give you.
Why Rainbow Divers?
Rainbow Divers are currently ranked in the top 0.005% of all accredited dive schools worldwide. This statistic alone is worth its weight in gold. The Lonely Planet & most international Travel Guide highly recommend Rainbow Divers as the premier diving schools in Vietnam.
Additional information:
• Rainbow Divers are a 5 Star CDC, IDC and National Geographic Centre. This prestigious accreditation is held by only 52 dive centres worldwide.
• We have 5 PADI diving centres spread throughout the length of Vietnam, from Hoi An in the north to Phu Quoc in the south (approx 2000km's apart). This gives us the unique ability to relocate students to more appropriate sites should inclement weather interfere with diving conditions or should you wish to dive at a specific site.
• The 2 resident Course Directors, Grant Martin and Jeremy P Stein hold the highest PADI diving qualifications in Vietnam and are widely respected within the diving community.
• The syllabus at Rainbow Divers is the largest in South East Asia. Courses are held all year round and the Centre recognises and automatically transfers all BSAC qualifications to the PADI equivalent.

Here's a little about me:
After retiring from the Army in 2008, I attended and
passed a Domestic Gas Engineer Course as my Resettlement before heading off on a round the world trip to celebrate the completion of my 22 years colour service.
Due to the economic crisis back in the UK, terrible weather, high crime rate and spiraling costs of living, I made it my aim whilst traveling throughout South East Asia to specifically research Dive Centres. The aim of this being to start a new career in Diving and also donate my time and efforts working for Charity.
After researching a plethora of dive centres in Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam, I found and am now working for Rainbow Divers, situated in Nha Trang, Vietnam.
The cost of living in Vietnam is half that of Thailand, which has become over commercialised and expensive. I moved to Vietnam in September 2009 with my partner Abigail and we both live very comfortably on my pension and invested savings alone (Savings accounts in Vietnam are currently set at 10% interest). An investment of £36,600 in a Vietnamese savings account will give you an additional income of £3,660 per annum. I rent a huge 4 bed roomed house with air conditioning, sun terrace, WIFI throughout, fully furnished and in the centre of town for £250 a month. Utilities rarely exceed £40 a month and the maid’s bill for cleaning 2 days a week is £15 a month. That’s a total of £3,660 a year for rent, utilities and cleaner. It really is that cheap! A simple comparison is: Thailand Large Tiger Beer £3-4, Vietnam 50-90 Pence. Say no more.
There are over 800 Expats currently living in Nha Trang and more than half a million living in the whole of Vietnam, so it’s easy to fit in and find out everything you need to know from a friendly western face who speaks your language. Many expats have moved to Vietnam with their spouses and families whilst others prefer to settle here alone or with friends. Additionally, over 100,000 western tourists pass through Nha Trang every year.
Should you decide to live here or stay for an extended period, on qualifying as a PADI Dive Master or Instructor, jobs are plentiful in Vietnam. This could supplement your pension through either a full or part time job, even though you may not require the additional income. Imagine getting paid for doing something you love. Life just doesn't get any better.
I personally oversee the welfare of all Military and Ex Military personnel, arranging accommodation and dealing with personal administrative issues should they arise.
Feel free to email me should you require further information.
