• Nha Trang Dive Centre

Nha Trang is the original home of diving in Vietnam. Jeremy Stein made the bay famous in the mid 90’s as a diving destination and the Government embraced the sport in 2003 by establishing a Marine Park protected area around the Island of Hon Mun.

Around a 40 minute cruise by boat, the Island offers fabulous scope for long dives with great macro life. One of the best value areas in the World for a PADI training course and Vietnam’s elite Rainbow dive guides to ensure divers see everything the Marine park has to offer.

Nha Trang Information

The 7km long, palm-lined sandy beach makes Nha Trang one of Vietnam's most popular destinations for Vietnamese and foreigners alike. A backdrop of mountains to the West & North not only provide picturesque scenery, but serve to isolate Nha Trang from the rest of the country's weather patterns.

Nha Trang enjoys the well deserved reputation of having the best climate in Vietnam, with an estimated 250 days of sunshine a year and temperatures between 26-38c. The rainy season can sometimes start mid November and last until early January. However, for the last 5 years we have been able to offer reasonable diving at this time, albeit with restricted viz. As for the rest of the year clear blue skies and a mirror like sea are almost guaranteed.

The many off-shore islands enhance the serenity of the coastal waters and make for a great day out. Some of the islands are uninhabited, whilst others are home to several small fishing villages. Due to the clarity of the water and the rich tropical sea life, the area is ideal for diving, swimming & snorkelling.
Fishing is one of the region's prime industries and most visitors take advantage of the town's many excellent seafood restaurants offering abalone, oysters, squid, prawns, lobster, scallops etc at very reasonable prices.

For variety, Nha Trang also boasts Italian, German, French, Indian, Japanese & Korean cuisine in the numerous restaurants along the front.

We can you you many tips and recommendations on great eateries – to really appreciate Viet Nam and its cuisine you need to head out of tourist town a little and experience the real flavours of Viet Nam such as:

Lac Canh (famous across Viet Nam for its BBQ beef recipe: often copied but never matched – rather like Rainbow Divers!).

Step back into the main part of the town, away from the tourist havens, and the pavements are bursting with local colour, street food, markets, 'che' stands and the general bustle of daily life.
Accommodation ranges from the basic US$15 room with shower to the luxury US$500-a-night plus (plus, plus). From Exclusive luxury, to beach front 5 Stars to private Family Hotels, there is truly something for every one.

For those hotels within walking distance from the divecentre (that’s 75% of Nha Trang Hotels) please make your way to the divecentre before 7am; we open at 6am for breakfast/coffee/juices etc.

For the Hotels North of Novotel, such as Sheraton + Sunrise, we collect just before 7am, and those South of Novotel, like the Ana Mandara we collect just after 7am.

Those resorts a little further out, you’ll need to arrange transfers to get to the divecentre before 7am. We can also arrange private transfers on request:
Collection + return price examples:
Mia Resort 500,000vnd
Diamond Bay 300,000vnd
An Lam Resort/ Six Senses: Ninh Van Bay 500,000vnd

We can also collect you from Hon Tam Island Resort at around 7.30am for an additional 400,000vnd.

From VinPearl, you simply get the early Ferry across to the mainland reception and we’ll collect you at 7.20am.

There are 4 scheduled daily flights into Cam Ranh airport from Saigon and Ha Noi and 2 daily from Da Nang. Beware - Cam Ranh airport is 40 Km from central Nha Trang, plan ahead…

There are ample over night trains also from Saigon with comfortable sleeper berths for around US$20. Day and Night trains from Da Nang and Ha Noi are also regular if not reliable!

For those on a budget and with strong constitutions there are literally hundreds of buses running in all directions connecting Nha Trang with the 3 major cities as well as Mui Ne and Hoi An.

Check out the hotel offers on Hotels.com, Otel.com or agoda.com.
We depart early in the morning to catch the best weather and water conditions. You will be the first divers in the water. Our comfortable air-conditioned bus will pick you up at the Rainbow Dive Shop or your hotel at around 7am for the drive down to the harbour.

At the harbour, we will hop on the boat for a 40 minute ride to Hon Mun Island Marine Park. One of our Senior PADI Instructors will introduce you to the crew and explain the particulars of the boat, after which your personal dive guide/PADI Instructor will run through your dive plan. Or you can always charter our Cruiser for a more personal experience.

Once at the dive site, we will suit up for diving, snorkelling, or any number of courses we have available through our PADI 5-Star Career Development Centre. Enjoy the turquoise waters, the amazing marine life and incredible coral reefs.

Take a mid-morning break with snacks + fresh local fruits and let the nitrogen dissipate while we head to our second dive site of the day. Jump back in and follow your guide for another thrilling adventure under the South China Sea.

Relax on the sun deck for the ride back to the harbour. Once there, the Rainbow Bus will take you to the dive shop, where your personal guide will sign your log book and help you with fish identification. Just kick back, have a beer/smoothie, and enjoy the splendour of Rainbow Bar and Restaurant. Divers get 10% off their bill. Return time approximately 13.00
